On September 16, Wuyi Star’s headquarters welcomed an international expert delegation as part of the " International Capacity Building on GIES Case of Wuyi Mountain Tea Origin of the World". The delegation of over 50 people included officials from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Asia-Pacific Regional Office, government representatives from various countries, and experts from scientific institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The delegation's tour began at Wuyi Star's germplasm resource garden, where they gained a detailed understanding of how Wuyi Rock Tea germplasm resources are protected and developed. They even had the opportunity to hand-pick fresh tea leaves. The experts highly praised Wuyi Star's extensive collection of tea plant varieties and innovative germplasm resources, engaging in in-depth discussions with our technical staff on topics like variety selection and ecological cultivation.
Next, the guests visited the Wuyi Star Tea Technology Exhibition Hall to learn about our practices and achievements in standardized, digital, and intelligent tea production. Under the guidance of experts from the Wuyi Rock Tea Technology Center and intangible cultural heritage inheritors, the delegation experienced the hands-on process of Wuyi Rock Tea production.
During a special tasting session, Wuyi Star served several of our representative teas. Through the tea-tasting experience, the guests further appreciated the profound cultural heritage and exceptional quality of Wuyi tea. International experts showed great interest in the connection between the unique "Yan Yun" (rock rhyme) characteristic of Wuyi Rock Tea and its landmark environment, leading to lively discussions on ecological preservation and landmark construction.
This visit was a key component of the "Wuyi Mountain World Black Tea Origin" project. As a leading enterprise in the Wuyi Mountain tea industry, Wuyi Star has always upheld the "Three Tea Synergy" development concept, actively promoting the integrated innovation of tea culture, tea industry, and tea technology. Looking forward, we will continue to strengthen cooperation with domestic and international research institutions and organizations, exploring new models for the coordinated and high-quality development of landmark habitat protection and the tea industry. Our goal is to help Wuyi tea move from its origin to the world, contributing to rural revitalization and the sustainable development of the tea industry.
